Targeted Charging Review (TCR)

On the 1st April 2022, the way in which Network Operators recover their costs from suppliers will change, as part of Ofgem’s Targeted Charging Review (TCR).

As a result, the distribution of these network charges will partly shift away from Unit Rates and into Standing Charges.

What is TCR?

The TCR was initiated by Ofgem to look into how network charging (DUoS and TNUoS) could be made fairer across all consumer groups whilst ensuring that the network operators recovered the required revenues to maintain the transmission and distribution systems.

What does this mean to my business?

For customers on a flexible energy contract you will see these changes from your April invoices onwards. If you are on a fixed contract you are likely to see these changes reflected in your renewal price.
