We’re Zero Carbon as standard. All our electricity is backed by Renewable Energy guarantees of origin (REGO's) certificates and nuclear generation*. We also offer renewable upgrade options and our 100% renewable electricity products is independently verified by the Carbon Trust.

We’ve been providing customers with Zero Carbon electricity for some time, and now we’re committing this to our customers as standard. We'll continue this commitment to all our business customers - so, when you renew or take out a new electricity plan with us, you can be sure that your business will receive Zero Carbon electricity for the full duration of your contract.

- 100% of your electricity will be backed by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin from natural UK sources such as solar, wind and hydro [1]

Renewable Gas and Carbon Offsets
(Available at a premium for customers using 150,000 kWh or more)
- 10% of your gas will be backed by Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin from UK renewable green gas
- 90% will be backed by approved carbon offsetting projects

- Zero Carbon: Every unit of electricity British Gas supply to you during your contract will be matched to electricity from a mix of renewable and nuclear energy to ensure that your business electricity supply is zero carbon for the term of your contract. We will hold the necessary number of Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) and nuclear declarations as evidence of this supply. In the event something changes, and we can longer guarantee a zero carbon supply we will write and let you know.
- 100% Renewable Electricity: Every unit of electricity British Gas supply to you during your contract will be matched to electricity from a renewable energy source and we hold the necessary number of Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs) as evidence of this supply. In the event something changes, and we can no longer guarantee a renewable supply we will write and let you know
- Carbon Neutral Gas: 10% of the gas British Gas supply to you during your contract will be matched to a renewable energy source and 90% to carbon offsetting projects. British Gas will hold the necessary number of Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGOs) and emission reduction certificates as evidence of this supply. We buy independently verified carbon offsets from qualified and registered projects. We will use reasonable endeavours to purchase enough Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGOs) to match 10% of the gas you use on this tariff and enough carbon offsets to offset the carbon footprint created from 90% of the gas you use. However, failure to do so will not constitute a breach of contract by us or give rise to you having the right to terminate the supply contract. In the event something changes, and we can no longer guarantee a carbon neutral supply we will write and let you know.
